Makerspace
The Van Hoosen Makerspace is open before school from 7:15-7:30 and during lunches. Students also have access to Makerspace tools for classes. There is also a 3D printer that students are welcome to use for small charge.
Also, there are special Makerspace lunch activities once a month that include things like flying drones, making buttons, and experiencing virtual reality. See the schedule below for our Makerspace events this year.

Media Center Policies
Media Center Hours
Monday-Friday 7:15-2:30 (during normal school hours)- These times are adjusted during hybrid/remote learning schedules.
- Check out a lunch pass in the cafeteria to come to the Media Center during lunch time.
- The Media Center is available in the mornings from 7:15-7:30 and at lunch for students to do work, print, use the Makerspace, or just catch up with classmates. The morning news show, VH Today, is also run during this time in the Media Center.
Check Out Policies
- Books may be checked out for two weeks
- Students may check out up to four items
- Students may not check anything out if they have an overdue book
- There will be a charge for any items not returned
- Students may place a book on hold using the Destiny book catalog

Hello! I'm Mrs. Mele!
I'm the Information Literacy Specialist at Van Hoosen Middle School.
I love to help students with finding just the right book, exploring innovative technology, and inventing with students in our VH Makerspace! I also enjoy running our morning news show, VH Today.
I am a mom, wife, and Spartan alumni. I love reading, playing and crafting with my kids, and getting outside!
I look forward to seeing you in the VH Media Center!
